What Should Your Small Business Tweet About?

Twitter is one of the best social media platforms to be on for any small business if you want to get the word out about your business and increase your online visibility. While most business owners know this, they do not have much idea about what they should tweet. After all, it is just 140 characters in which you have to put in everything. If you fail to do this, you may hurt your company rather than building your brand image.
So what should you tweet about so that it contributes to your goals and gives you the maximum possible impact? Over here, we present some tried and tested content that serves to be a great tweet and gives you the results you desire.

Share links to interesting articles

Is there any article which you think can generate interest? Tweet about it then! You do not have to write this article or upload it on your blog. As long as it is related to your niche, you can still share it.
So for instance, if you are a company which sells health products, you can share articles which give tips on well-being, fitness, diet and so on. What if your business is about a technological product? Tweet about relevant news in the industry, current trends and any other similar thing.

Cover behind the scene happenings

What is one of the most effective strategies which brands use to achieve success? They give a face to their company in an attempt to let people know the ‘personal’ them, the personalities behind their brand. How do they do this? By letting audience in on behind the scene happenings: corporate dinners, employees’ events, celebrations and other inside stories. Tweet about all of these; you could mention the fun, the attendees, the followed program, and so on. Also share pictures of your team and your office. Let people know more about your company and appear as someone with whom they would be interested in doing business.

Got a deal to promote?

Do you give out deals and promotional offers to your consumers? May be you have discounts, a reward program or are offering a free product. Whatever it is, tweet about it and spread word. Your followers will probably re-tweet it on their network, providing you with more exposure.
Just keep one thing in mind: the deal should be enticing enough so that people are not only attracted to it, but share it as well.

Contributing to charity and the entire community itself

Do you help those in need? Does your business do something for the society and incorporate their social responsibility? If you give out donations, hold charitable events or focus on sustainability, let your followers know. You can show them you are helping the community and ask them for help as well by asking them to donate or something of that same sort.
Be human, have a heart and your followers will see you as a brand which cares.

Respond to others

Did you just see your business being mentioned on Twitter? Incorporate this in your tweets then. If the feedback is positive, appreciate and say thank you. What if it is negative? Offer an apology and take steps to put it right.
This sort of content does your business good in two main ways: first of all, it promotes your business. And secondly, it also helps you improve your customer services. When you respond to customers and fix their issues, their satisfaction levels rise. Do everything right, and you might as well, retain them.

Share content which you produce

If your company has a blog, share links of your posts on Twitter.  Even if you upload content elsewhere, share the links. This will provide you with back links, contributing to your SEO strategies. Plus, you are spreading word about your business. And since you are sharing useful information and offering value, your followers will see you as credible which will help you build authority and establish yourself as an expert.

Highlight your achievements

Got something to celebrate about? Maybe you achieved one of your goals, emerged as a winner in small business contest or got an award. You may have gotten a great review or the press may have bought up your name positively.  Use Twitter to share your achievements and show your followers that you are a successful business.

Incorporate some humor

Humor is a great way to get results from your marketing campaigns. Start being humorous on Twitter as well and share some funny content with your followers. It may be a joke, a funny video on YouTube or anything else. As long as it is going to make people laugh, it will help you achieve your promotional goals. Plus doing this also means that you are humanizing your company, which makes people more eager to deal with you.
One thing which is worth mentioning is the fact that sarcasm is not considered funny by many people. So whatever you share, just make sure it is going to bring a smile on someone’s face and not make them feel bad or repel you or your brand.

Are you in touch with the latest in the industry?

If you are a business, which keeps up with the technology and are always incorporating it into your products and services, let others know. Showcase your pros and also share latest studies, whitepapers, breakthrough, trends and other advancements. Your followers will show an interest and will also know that you are focused on providing them the best that is possible.

Ask a question

Do you have something in mind which you want to ask your consumers? Maybe you want you to tell them about ways in which you could improve yourself or want their opinion on something else. Use Twitter for it, and get your audience to respond to you. Just make sure that you act on their suggestions.

So tweet about all that we have mentioned above, and watch as more and more people talk about you, helping you build your online visibility.
